PREMIUM is our over-all most popular koi food. Ideal food for keeping
all koi in show quality condition, this high performance formula
provides your fish with a perfect balance of both growth and color.
PREMIUM can be used alone or in conjunction with other formulas
such as GROWTH PLUS, ALL-SEASON or PRIMARY.
Featuring five sources of protein, of which spirulina, krill, and shrimp
are also color enhancing, this formula is an all-time favorite with
serious hobbyists and many top Japanese koi breeders and koi
connoissuers. Dainichi's unique two-step application of vitamins and
minerals, especially vitamins C & E ensures that luster, sheen and
whites of the koi are at their best.
Like all Dainichi foods, PREMIUM contains calcium montmorillonite clay
to simulate the natural ingestion of mineral particles and to bind and
neutralize metabolic toxins. Raw, fully potent vitamins, digestive enzymes
and garlic ensure that the fish are healthy and free of internal parasites.
Furthermore, the scouring action of the clay enhances continued
rejuvenation of the digestive tract which ensures a maximum rate of digestion and assimilation of nutrients. With only two sources of starch (flour as binder and wheat germ as a source of vitamin E and B), PREMIUM keeps the body conformation of all koi in a constant show-ready condition.

| Feed your fish only as much as they will eat (immediately) in a few minutes, 2 to 4 times daily. Smaller, more frequent feeding are preferred over a single large one. All Dainichi foods have low levels of starches to prevent excessive swelling in the digestive tract and to maintain a lean show-ready body conformation. There is no need for other spirulina-containing color food (like COLOR IMTENSIFIER) to be used in conjunction with PREMIUM. Heavy feeding using both of these color formulas may result in the whites of the koi turning pink, requiring a switch to either PRIMARY, ALL-SEASON or GROWTH PLUS until the whites return back to their normal shade. |

These high quality Japanese koi look every bit as good as they did in the pristine water of Niigata. The main reason, of course, is the nutritional and show qualities of the PREMIUM formula. Many of these koi were reared in the mud ponds on this very same formula by the breeders, prior to their export to hobbyist markets in America and Europe. Further use of the PREMIUM formula provides a continuation of good care and pond management practiced by the breeders themselves. The high content of quality marine proteins such as fish meal, shrimp and krill combined with a low amount of starch, produces a diet that is high in protein (42%) and also exceptionally nutritious. Digestibility is so complete that dissolved organic matter in the water is reduced to levels inhospitable to algae blooms even under the full exposure to sun.
The unique properties of Dainichi's encapsulation process enables us to apply the spirulina and the vitamins (especially vitamin C), in their raw, uncooked state which produces exceptionally deep reds (hi) and bright whites. |
