Based on the color-rich, Veggie Deluxe formula, VEGGIE FX is fortified
with an addition of a Cyclop-eeze® and NatuRose® coating and is one
of our most exotic foods to date. Encapsulated with 100% pure cultured
spirulina, freeze-dried Cyclop-eeze® (a crustacean with the highest known
levels of carotenoids and "omega-3" fatty acids), NatuRose® (Haemato-
coccus algae with a 15,000 ppm astaxanthin content) and E.superba krill,
VEGGIE FX contains all natural minerals, nutrients and pigments designed
to enhance the color and luster of your cichlids. With six seperate
applications of color enhancing ingredients, the color promoting properties
are rivaled only by our other specialty formula, COLOR FX.
At the same time, there are absolutely no compromises
in the nutritional qualities. Raw, fully potent vitamins,
digestive enzymes and garlic ensure that the fish are healthy
and free of internal parasites. As in all Dainichi foods, we included
calcium montmorillonite clay to simulate the natural uptake of mineral
particles as well as to bind and neutralize metabolic toxins. Furthermore,
the scouring action of the clay enhances the rejuvenation of the digestive tract which when combined with only two sources of starch (flour as binder and wheat germ as a source of vitamin E and B) ensures the maximum rate of digestion and assimilation of nutrients. The veggie formulas, VEGGIE DELUXE and VEGGIE FX are designed to prevent bloating. Rather than swelling to two or three times their original size, the pellets will break down to their granular state in the digestive tract of a fish. This feature makes it virtually impossible to cause "bloat" in even the most strictest of herbivores such as Tropheus species.

| Feed your fish only as much as they will eat (immediately) in a few minutes, 2 to 4 times daily. Smaller, more frequent feeding are preferred over a single large one. Do not pre-soak the food prior use! Pre-soaking washes out vitamins, color enhancers, other nutrients, and lowers the performance of the food. All Dainichi foods have a low inclusion of starches to prevent excessive swelling in the digestive tract. Pre-soaking of Dainichi cichlid food is absolutely not required nor beneficial! |

Othopharynx lithobates with a "yellow blaze",
ideally should have VEGGIE FX as an integral part of their diet. The seven -fold application of Cyclop-eeze, shrimp, and raw, un-cooked spirulina and krill, bring out the best in cichlids of this type. |
|
Cichlids with a "blaze", such as this male iceberg fryeri, achieve spectacular results on the VEGGIE FX formula. The dual action of deepening the blue while brightening the blaze is a feature unique only to Dainichi FX line of specialty foods. |
 |
| This Protomelas taeniolotus pair was raised on the pre-cursor of VEGGIE FX, Cyclop-eeze® enriched VEGGIE SPECIALTY. The now refined formulation is even more potent. The solid blue head is a distinguishing feature from the jade- faced COLOR SUPREME fed taeniolotus. |

 |
| Red empress females also exhibit maximized coloration. Standard coloration is plain silver. |
|
Gold nugget plecos not only thrive on this formula, but look great as well! |

 |
| Melanochromis sp. 'Maingano' showing off its elongated pelvic fins. This attractive feature appears often in cichlids fed with our Cyclop-eeze® diets. There are no hormones in any Dainichi diets, therefore, other fins retain standard lengths. |
|
'Iceberg' fryeri demonstrating the origins of its name. The blaze has reached the lateral line on the side of the fish. There is enough marine proteins to satiate even raptorial cichlids such as this hook-nosed individual. |

 |
| Red empress male fed for 9 months with a 50/50 mix of VEGGIE FX and ULTIMA. The encapsulation process featuring krill, un-cooked Cyclop-eeze® spirulina and vitamins is definitely working! The colors are bright with good sheen. |
|
Altolamprologus compressiceps also do very well on the same diet. Both formulas contain generous amounts of krill both inside and out to provide ample growth opportunity for even slow growing fish like this one. Blue lips are interesting also. |
 |
| Same pair as above. The size and color of both fish is outstanding by any standards. Like all of Dainichi formulas, VEGGIE FX contains no fillers. As a result, the waste production is unusually small, resulting in a dramatic reduction of algal growth. |

|
 |
| The kelp base of VEGGIE FX is a key factor in maintaining high digestibility and good health, while seven applications of color promoting ingredients provide a 'no-holds-barred' degree of color enhancement. |
|
This 1.75" juvenile obliquidens has a very high proportion of red, yet still maintains bright yellow and blue coloration on the body. Maintaining color separation is accomplished only by formulating with as many sources of pigment as possible. |
 |
| As this group photo of 1 - 1.75" juveniles demonstrates, the coloration resulting from inclusion of NatuRose® (15,000 ppm astaxanthin) and Cyclop-eeze® (3,000 - 7,500 ppm astaxanthin) is exceptional, even on young fish such as these. Little less obvious is the enhanced fin growth. This feature is easier to spot when comparing two Lab. hongi siblings, one fed with VEGGIE DELUXE and the other fed with this formula. |
